Practice Resources, LLC (PRL) is seeking summer interns for the Billing and IT departments. Hours are flexible and up to 40 hours per week are available.

PRL is a premier medical billing and practice management company centrally located in downtown Syracuse. Responsibilities could include:
  • Daily enter and/or verify demographic information in multiple billing systems such as Medent, G-Med, NextGen, and Healthpac
  • Responsible for posting personal payments and running credit card payments, this can consist of posting for multiple clients
  • Load insurance information under correct plan and research ID numbers. Verify eligibility on websites when necessary and run eligibility daily for Medicare, Emdeon, and Bluecross Blueshield
  • Review, file and mail all paper claims which include HCFA’s, C4’s, and PT 4’s
  • Work IHCFA for Workers Comp and No Fault insurances by attaching notes and invoices to claims, and archiving claims
  • Verify and update addresses for return mail received.
  • Complete all return checks received by accounting for insufficient funds by posting the return check fees and documenting the accounts.
  • Responsible for documenting all EOR’s and completing any Medical Record Requests
  • Provide general help desk tasks and phone support with medical software application
  • Basic network and hardware troubleshooting
  • Financial and clinical reporting
  • Act as liaison between clients, company, and EMR vendor
  • Work special reports assigned by the Supervisor or Manager
  • Strong communication, organizational, and computer skills preferred
  • Must be at least 18
